The problem, for me, with OpenOffice for Mac has always and is still its poor integration in the MacOS X environment, and one of the consequences I deplore the most is the painfully slow scroll through large documents. Only complaint is again about the interface not being native to OS X and instead relying on X11.
Neo Office is one alternative solution, but hopefully the main folks on the Open Office project will be able to update the entire suite so that it takes full advantage of the native OS X interface. Please keep up the good work. It is fantastic to have the same suite on Windows, Linux and OS X.
Maybe soon, Microsoft Office will be a faded memory for many of us who don't really want to use it. If they can just get that OpenDoc format (or whatever) figured out and standardized, we can use Open Office APPS with Microsoft Office FILES and not miss a beat. That would make life much better for consultants who interface with clients reliant on the Microsoft Juggernaut.
